We are working in partnership with a well-established and highly regarded education provider who are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Agriculture to join their Landbased & Equine faculty. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced agricultural professional or lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching across arable, livestock and farm mechanisation, supporting learners across a range of programmes. The role combines practical delivery, classroom teaching, and student support within a forward-thinking and industry-aligned environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging teaching across full-time, part-time and short courses in Agriculture
- Act as a course tutor, supporting student progress, attendance and achievement
- Plan and deliver both practical and classroom-based learning sessions
- Support curriculum development in line with industry trends and demands
- Monitor and maintain accurate student records and assessment data
- Participate in student recruitment activities including events and open days
- Contribute to internal verification and quality assurance processes
- Support the development and maintenance of agricultural resources and facilities
- Promote safeguarding, health & safety, and student welfare at all times
The Ideal Candidate
- Background within the agricultural industry (arable, livestock or mechanisation)
- Educated to HNC level or equivalent vocational experience
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
- Passion for supporting and developing learners
- Flexible approach, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and professional standards
Desirable
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- Experience within Further or Higher Education
- Knowledge of farm machinery and health & safety practices
- Experience delivering training or mentoring others
