Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. Overview
This role will suit someone who is genuinely interested in building a career within Quantity Surveying and commercial construction. You will gain hands-on exposure across the full project lifecycle, supporting experienced Surveyors with cost management, subcontractor procurement and commercial reporting. The business has a strong track record of developing talent internally, with clear progression routes and structured development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with subcontractor procurement and tender processes
- Preparing and reviewing scopes of work and trade packages
- Supporting with cost reporting and financial tracking
- Assisting with subcontractor payments and variations
- Attending site meetings and supporting project delivery
- Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
- Supporting with final accounts and commercial documentation
The Ideal Candidate
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business Economics, Maths, Project Management or similar
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in Quantity Surveying
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Commercially aware with good numerical ability
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
- Motivated, proactive and able to work in a team environment
Desirable
- Any construction, site or commercial experience (placement, internship or part-time)
- Understanding of construction processes or cost management
