Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. Overview

This role will suit someone who is genuinely interested in building a career within Quantity Surveying and commercial construction. You will gain hands-on exposure across the full project lifecycle, supporting experienced Surveyors with cost management, subcontractor procurement and commercial reporting. The business has a strong track record of developing talent internally, with clear progression routes and structured development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with subcontractor procurement and tender processes
  • Preparing and reviewing scopes of work and trade packages
  • Supporting with cost reporting and financial tracking
  • Assisting with subcontractor payments and variations
  • Attending site meetings and supporting project delivery
  • Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
  • Supporting with final accounts and commercial documentation

The Ideal Candidate

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business Economics, Maths, Project Management or similar
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Quantity Surveying
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Commercially aware with good numerical ability
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
  • Motivated, proactive and able to work in a team environment

Desirable

  • Any construction, site or commercial experience (placement, internship or part-time)
  • Understanding of construction processes or cost management
