We are looking for a practical and motivated Mechanical Service Engineer to join our client's Hire & Repair team. You will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of small tools, handheld equipment, and petrol/diesel-powered machinery used within the construction industry. This role would suit someone with strong mechanical experience, ideally gained within construction, plant, tool hire, or automotive environments.

Responsibilities- Service, maintain, and repair small tools and handheld equipment
- Diagnose faults on petrol and diesel-powered tools and machinery
- Carry out pre-hire inspections, safety checks, and routine servicing
- Ensure equipment meets safety and compliance standards prior to hire
- Accurately record servicing, inspections, and repair work
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and follow health & safety procedures
- Support the wider team to ensure equipment availability for customers
- Assist in the warehouse when required
- Strong mechanical repair and servicing experience
- Experience working with petrol and diesel tools/engines
- Experience with construction equipment, tool hire, plant machinery, or power tools
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
- Hands-on workshop experience with a good understanding of health & safety
- Electrical fault finding, tool hire or merchant experience, automotive background, or relevant mechanical qualifications would be advantageous
