We are working with an established and growing supplier within the industrial and commercial sector, supporting a wide range of clients across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Production Machinist / Quality & Stock Controller to support operations at their Stanmore site. This is a varied, hands-on role that will primarily focus on production and machining duties, alongside responsibility for quality control and stock management. Approximately 70% of the role will involve machining and production-based work, with the remaining 30% focused on quality control and stock coordination. This position would suit someone with previous machining or production experience who also has a strong eye for detail and experience supporting stock control and quality processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Machining Duties (Approx. 70%)
- Operating machinery and supporting day-to-day production activities
- Cutting, threading, assembling, and counting products/materials
- Ensuring production targets and deadlines are achieved
- Supporting general production workflow and efficiency
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Assisting with goods movement and warehouse organisation where required
- Quality & Stock Control Duties (Approx. 30%)
- Carrying out quality inspections and checks on products
- Supporting quality control procedures and documentation
- Managing and maintaining accurate stock records and inventory systems
- Supporting stock checks, cycle counts, and inventory audits
- Coordinating goods in/out and monitoring stock levels
- Processing deliveries, returns, and dispatch documentation
- Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth operational flow
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience within a machining, production, or manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting quality control processes
- Strong stock control and inventory management experience
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable in a hands-on production-focused role
- Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work within a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- Experience working with warehouse or stock management systems
- Experience within industrial or engineering-related environments
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
