A well-established business based in Kettering is looking for a Finance Assistant to join its team. This is a great opportunity to join a stable business where development, training and long-term progression are genuinely encouraged.
You’ll work closely with the Group Finance Manager, gaining hands-on exposure across a broad range of finance activities rather than being restricted to one area.
What will you be doing?
- Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments
- Supporting sales invoicing across multiple divisions
- Assisting with credit control and following up outstanding customer payments
- Reconciling transactions and maintaining accurate financial records
- Using accounting software to process financial information
- Supporting month-end and year-end procedures
- Handling finance queries from customers, suppliers and internal teams
- Maintaining financial accounts and reports
- Providing general administrative support to the Finance Manager
Who are we looking for?
This role would suit someone who is early in their finance career and keen to develop. Ideally, you’ll have at least a year’s experience in an accounts or finance environment, such as Accounts Assistant or Bookkeeper, and some exposure to accounting software. However, experience isn’t everything. Full training will be provided for the right person, so if you have the attitude, aptitude and ambition to build a career in Finance, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll need:
- Strong academic ability, particularly in Maths or Economics
- Excellent attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Good problem-solving skills and the confidence to use your own initiative
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with an accounting package would be advantageous
