An established and growing manufacturing business is seeking 2 x experienced CNC Setter/Operators to join its production team on a permanent basis - one on the early shift and one on the back shift.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-invested manufacturing environment, working with advanced waterjet and CNC cutting technology to produce high-quality products for a diverse customer base. The role will focus heavily on the setup, programming and operation of CNC-controlled cutting equipment, with particular emphasis on waterjet cutting operations.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, programme and operate CNC waterjet cutting machinery safely and efficiently.
- Ensure machines are correctly configured to meet production requirements and quality standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files and job specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to optimise cutting quality, efficiency and material utilisation.
- Carry out first-off and in-process quality inspections to ensure components meet specification.
- Troubleshoot machine, programme and production issues, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Assist with routine maintenance, machine care and basic fault finding.
- Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment.
- Previous experience as a CNC Setter/Operator within a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Proven experience operating and programming waterjet cutting machines is highly desirable.
- Experience programming and operating Biesse CNC machinery is highly desirable.
- Candidates with Intermac CNC experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming, machine setup and process optimisation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve machining issues.
- Experience with machine fault finding and preventative maintenance is advantageous.
