We are recruiting on behalf of a dynamic and rapidly growing alternative finance provider supporting SMEs and property entrepreneurs across the UK. The business has built a strong reputation for combining technology with a highly personalised approach to lending, delivering tailored financial solutions to help businesses grow. Due to continued expansion, they are now looking to appoint a Finance Manager to join their collaborative and fast-paced finance team based in London. The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Finance Manager will play a key role within the financial reporting team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information across the group. The position will involve management reporting, reconciliations, cashflow forecasting, statutory audit support, process improvement, and assisting with bringing the finance function fully in-house.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding items promptly
- Update loan management systems for manual transactions
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts across multiple funding lines
- Assist with bringing the finance function fully in-house and improving financial processes
- Support automation and streamlining of month-end reporting procedures
- Ensure accounting records accurately reflect all transactions across group entities
- Manage accruals, prepayments, inter-company transactions, and investments
- Assist with the development and enhancement of financial controls and compliance processes
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and performance analysis
- Support statutory audits and ensure deadlines are achieved
- Work closely with senior finance leadership on accounting standards and regulatory compliance
- Support with ad hoc finance projects as required
The Ideal Candidate
- Part or newly qualified ACA or equivalent
- Previous experience within financial services would be advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to present financial information clearly
- Able to work effectively within a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using Sage accounting software would be beneficial
- Self-motivated with a proactive and adaptable approach
