Finance Manager Northampton Salary £45-50k FTE DOE Monday – Friday – Full & Part time hours considered ( 24hours minimum ) An established, privately-owned business with a strong international presence is seeking a Finance Manager to join its leadership team. The company has decades of experience in providing innovative, sustainable solutions within the engineering and manufacturing sector. With a focus on quality, environmental responsibility, and technical expertise, the organisation fosters a collaborative, supportive culture that values professional development and long-term growth. The Finance Manager will take ownership of the company’s financial operations, ensuring effective controls, accurate reporting, and data-driven insights to support decision-making. This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and operational teams. Key Duties: Manage daily finance operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and the general ledger. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts. Lead on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Oversee cash flow management to ensure working capital efficiency. Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis. Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, tax obligations, and internal policies. Oversee statutory accounts and liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies. Line-manage and mentor a Finance Assistant, supporting professional development. Develop and enhance financial systems and controls for scalability. Oversee payroll, VAT returns, and corporation tax submissions. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decisions. Work closely with the Managing Director and senior team on wider business matters. Skills & Experience: Essential Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). At least 3 years’ experience in a Finance Manager or similar role. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or ERP). Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Financial Modelling). Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to meet deadlines under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Commercial acumen and a hands-on approach. Desirable Experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment. Familiarity with financial planning and reporting software
