We are working with a well‑established and busy engineering business in Northampton who are looking to appoint an experienced CNC Turner (Setter/Operator) to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable company with consistent overtime available and a strong team environment. Due to the location, candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own transport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting and operating CNC lathes using Fanuc controls
  • Programming machines to produce high‑quality components
  • Working from 2D engineering drawings to tight tolerances
  • Machining a range of materials including 316, 304, Duplex, Titanium and Hastelloy
  • Inspecting your own work to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday: 06:00 – 14:30 or 07:00 – 15:30
Friday: 06:00 – 12:00
38 hours per week
Overtime readily available, including Saturdays

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner (setter/operator)
  • Strong experience working with Fanuc controls
  • Ability to programme, set and operate independently
  • Confident reading and interpreting 2D drawings
  • Experience working with a variety of materials
  • Able to inspect own work and work to tight tolerances
  • Reliable, team‑focused and committed to quality

Desirable

  • Time‑served apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
  • Experience within a fast‑paced machining environment
