A growing Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality consultancy is looking to appoint a SHEQ Advisor to support a diverse portfolio of clients across the South Midlands and London region. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, relationship-focused Health & Safety professional who enjoys working closely with clients rather than delivering “tick-box” compliance.
The Role
This is a home-based position with regular travel across the South Midlands, London and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will work closely with a range of clients across construction, manufacturing, utilities, education and engineering environments. You’ll provide competent and commercially practical SHEQ support, helping clients improve compliance, safety culture and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as a trusted SHEQ advisor across multiple client sites
- Conducting site inspections and audits
- Producing and reviewing RAMS and risk assessments
- Supporting Construction Phase Plans and CDM-related activities
- Delivering practical H&S guidance via phone, email and site visits
- Developing policies, procedures, toolbox talks and training materials
- Supporting management systems implementation and continual improvement
- Working with digital safety management systems and audit tools
About You
The ideal candidate will be adaptable, personable and able to communicate effectively with both operational teams and senior stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ UK Health & Safety experience
- Strong construction sector background
- Level 3 Health & Safety qualification or equivalent
- Experience with CDM, risk assessments and H&S compliance
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Comfortable managing a remote workload independently
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle for business use
Desirable Experience
- Multi-site or consultancy experience
- Exposure to manufacturing, utilities, education or engineering sectors
- Additional construction or CDM qualifications
