We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Transport Coordinator to join their busy and growing operations team based in Bedford.
This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience in transport, logistics or shipping who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and being involved in the day-to-day running of transport operations.
You will be responsible for organising deliveries, booking collections, speaking with transport companies and making sure goods get to customers on time.
You'll work closely with the warehouse and customer service teams, helping to keep everything running smoothly.
What will you be doing?
- Organising daily deliveries and collections for both business and individual customers.
- Booking shipments and liaising with transport companies such as DHL, DPD, UPS, Royal Mail, Evri and Amazon.
- Tracking deliveries and dealing with any delays or delivery problems.
- Communicating with transport companies to make sure deliveries run on time.
- Monitoring transport costs and checking delivery charges.
- Helping organise transport capacity during busy periods.
- Coordinating UK and international shipments, including hazardous goods where required.
- Working closely with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve any issues.
- Making sure transport operations run efficiently and customers receive a good service.
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience in transport, logistics, shipping or distribution.
- Experience arranging deliveries and working with transport companies.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Confident dealing with delivery issues and finding solutions.
- Good attention to detail.
- Able to work in a busy environment and manage different tasks.
- A positive, hands‑on approach and the ability to work as part of a team.
