Purpose of the Role
The Hygiene Operative is responsible for ensuring that all machinery, equipment, and factory areas are cleaned and sanitised to the highest food safety and hygiene standards. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant production environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect bacon production machinery and all factory departments.
- Wash and sanitise equipment, tools, boots, and other work-related items.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Follow all hygiene, food safety, health and safety, and company policies.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the factory environment.
- Report any hygiene, safety, or equipment concerns to supervisors.
Required Skills and Experience
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual, repetitive tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions and work to strict procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards.
- Good teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
- Previous hygiene or factory cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
Working Conditions
- Factory-based environment that may be cold, wet, and noisy.
