Working Hours: Candidates must be available to work any 4 days out of 7, 16:00 to 00:00 (midnight).
Purpose of the Role: The Hygiene Operative is responsible for ensuring that all machinery, equipment, and factory areas are cleaned and sanitised to the highest food safety and hygiene standards. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant production environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect bacon production machinery and all factory departments.
- Wash and sanitise equipment, tools, boots, and other work-related items.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Follow all hygiene, food safety, health and safety, and company policies.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the factory environment.
- Report any hygiene, safety, or equipment concerns to supervisors.
Required Skills and Experience
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual, repetitive tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions and work to strict procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards.
- Good teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
- Previous hygiene or factory cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
Working Conditions
- Factory-based environment that may be cold, wet, and noisy.
- Regular use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Frequent use of cleaning chemicals and sanitation products.
- Physically demanding role involving standing, walking, lifting, and cleaning activities throughout the shift.
Candidate Requirements
- Comfortable undertaking physical work for the duration of the shift.
- Flexible and available to work any 4 days from a 7-day rota.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail.
