We are seeking an experienced and proactive Legal Assistant/Secretary to support our clients' well-established Residential Conveyancing team. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality administrative and secretarial assistance to ensure maximum efficiency within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Fee Earner diaries and schedule appointments.
- Handle routine client communications and enquiries.
- Open, maintain, and close client files in line with firm procedures.
- Maintain accurate records on the firm’s database.
- Draft and send correspondence, including invoices and dictated documents.
- Submit SDLT forms and Land Registry applications.
- Ensure confidentiality of all client and firm information.
- Maintain hard copy files and perform general administrative duties.
- Assist with post-completion tasks and legal document drafting.
- Record financial transactions and clear balances before file closure.
- Organise searches and compile necessary reports.
- Manage daily post and other clerical tasks.
- Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as reasonably required by the firm.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Secretary, preferably within a Residential Conveyancing environment.
