Salary: £42,444 - £44,962 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Contract: Permanent | Full Time (37 hours per week)

Teaching Commitment: Up to 7.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced education professional to join a leading further education provider as Deputy Head of Faculty for Construction Trades & Heritage.

Working alongside the Head of Faculty, you will help lead the faculty, drive high standards of teaching and learning, support curriculum development and inspire a team of lecturers, technicians and skills coaches. With a reduced teaching commitment, you'll combine hands-on teaching with strategic leadership to improve learner outcomes and strengthen employer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the strategic and operational leadership of the faculty.
  • Lead, motivate and develop teaching and support staff.
  • Deliver up to 7.5 hours of teaching per week.
  • Drive improvements in teaching quality, learner achievement and curriculum delivery.
  • Support quality assurance, self-assessment and inspection readiness.
  • Build strong relationships with employers and industry partners.
  • Assist with resource planning, budgets and curriculum development.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion and student wellbeing.

About You:

Essential

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd or equivalent).
  • Degree, professional qualification or significant vocational experience in Construction Trades, Heritage or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching within Further Education.
  • Previous leadership or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development, quality assurance and learner achievement.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Desirable:

  • Leadership or management qualification.
  • Apprenticeship delivery experience.
  • Knowledge of FE funding and quality frameworks.
  • Experience managing budgets and working with employers.
