Key Responsibilities
- Design Development: Produce detailed and general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor, ensuring all designs are compliant with client requirements and functional engineering standards.
- Client Collaboration: Interpret client briefs and maintain open, professional communication throughout the design and delivery process.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with suppliers, fabricators, and on-site teams to ensure accurate production and seamless implementation of designs.
- Technical Analysis: Undertake relevant design calculations, risk assessments, and site surveys to support and validate engineering solutions.
- Project Management: Handle multiple complex projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while upholding high standards of design quality and technical precision.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience in a mechanical design engineering role, ideally within manufacturing, construction, or a similar technical sector.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials selection, fabrication techniques, and production processes.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, safety requirements, and design standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management capabilities, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Full, valid UK driver’s licence (for occasional site visits).
