Pay Rate: £13.05 per hour
Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday
- Monday – Thursday: 07:00 – 16:00
- Friday: 07:00 – 13:00 (Early finish!)
About the Role
Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-quality foam products in Bedford, is seeking reliable and hardworking Production Operatives to join their growing manufacturing team. In this role, you will play a key part in the core manufacturing process—operating specialized machinery, preparing moulds, and ensuring every finished product meets strict quality standards. No prior foam manufacturing experience is required! Full training and personal protective equipment (PPE) are provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Mould Preparation & Demoulding: Safely unclamp, open, clean, and hand-wax moulds and vents using release agents to ensure smooth operation.
- Production & Chemical Application: Apply polyol/isocyanate mixes into moulds according to specific customer requirements and securely close tools for curing.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect finished foam parts for minor defects, rectify simple faults, or report issues promptly to team leaders.
- Machine & Tool Maintenance: Thoroughly clean and maintain all tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure maximum safety and efficiency.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to company quality, environmental, and Health & Safety regulations (including safe handling procedures around chemicals and machinery).
Key Requirements
- Physical Fitness: Comfortable performing regular, repetitive heavy lifting in an active, fast-paced factory environment.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written English comprehension to safely follow production instructions and safety signs.
