Job Description
Bid Writer – 6-Month FTCNorthamptonHours – 42.5 Monday – Friday Salary – very competitiveWe're seeking an experienced, proactive Bid Writer to join our client on a 6-month fixed-term contract to take ownership of their tendering and bid-writing function, provide expert guidance, and lay a robust foundation for future growth.This is a standalone role, ideally suited to someone who can hit the ground running, take the lead on bid strategy, and work cross-functionally to review and improve their documentation, policies, and accreditations. If successful, this could evolve into a longer-term or permanent position depending on contract wins and commercial growth.Duties
- Leading bid writing and tender submissions across Drainage, Civils, Roofing, and Construction sectors
- Reviewing and improving all existing bid documentation and templates
- Conducting a gap analysis on current processes and aligning them with industry best practices
- Managing policy, compliance and accreditation reviews (e.g. CHAS, Constructionline, ISO, SSIP
- Supporting the business in identifying suitable tender opportunities and building structured, winning responses
- Providing strategic input and guidance on best practice for future tenders
The Candidate
- Proven success in bid writing and tender management, ideally in Construction, Drainage, Civils, or Roofing
- Strong understanding of public and private sector procurement
- Excellent writing, organisational and project management skills
- Experience with policy writing and document control
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry accreditations and compliance requirements
- The ability to work independently while engaging stakeholders to extract technical and operational content
