We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join an established transport team based in Yate. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 7:00pm. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic, with previous experience in transport planning and scheduling. Strong geographical knowledge is essential.
Key responsibilities:
- Create daily transport plans for timber and sheet material deliveries across the South West region
- Optimise routing for a fleet of rigid vehicles to maximise efficiency and utilisation
- Respond quickly and effectively to changing operational demands and challenges
- Communicate clearly with drivers, hauliers, warehouse teams, sales teams, and customers to ensure reliable service
- Manage re-deliveries, failed deliveries, customer-specific delivery requirements, and returns
- Maintain a strong understanding of HGV operations and load security
- Coordinate vehicle inspections, servicing, and repairs
- Ensure compliance with driver hours and working time regulations
