We are seeking an experienced and motivated Service Engineer to join a growing field service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for visiting customer sites to carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, upgrades, and servicing activities across a range of automatic door systems and associated equipment.

This role requires a proactive individual with strong fault-finding skills who can diagnose issues methodically and deliver excellent customer service at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive callouts, and modernization/upgrades.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
  • Provide technical support to customers and colleagues.
  • Conduct door safety inspections and investigate incidents or customer complaints.
  • Recommend upgrades, preventative replacements, and service solutions to customers.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours rota and offer flexibility with working hours where required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate records using tablets and service paperwork systems.
  • Manage company vehicle, stock, tools, PPE, and uniform responsibly.
  • Follow all on-site customer procedures and safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a wider engineering team.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with automatic door systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical knowledge.
  • Ability to diagnose faults using a logical and systematic approach.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Customer-focused attitude with a willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Flexible approach to call-outs, overtime, and weekend work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS7036 / EN16005 certification preferred.
  • CSCS Card.
  • NVQ in Door Systems and Repair or similar qualification.
