We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Service Engineer to join a growing field service team. This role involves visiting customer sites to carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and upgrade works on automatic door systems and associated equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults, completing repairs efficiently, and delivering a high standard of customer service while ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive call-outs, and modernization/upgrade work
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using a logical and methodical approach
  • Provide technical support and recommendations to customers and colleagues
  • Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades
  • Complete door safety checks and investigate incidents or customer concerns where required
  • Participate in an out-of-hours call rota
  • Maintain accurate service records, paperwork, and tablet-based reporting
  • Manage company vehicle, tools, stock, uniform, and PPE responsibly
  • Follow all site-specific procedures and health & safety regulations
  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times and maintain professional standards
  • Work collaboratively as part of a wider engineering team
  • Support continuous improvement by highlighting process or operational improvements
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience working on automatic doors or similar systems is highly desirable
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including call-outs and occasional weekend work
  • Commitment to delivering high levels of customer service
Qualifications & Requirements
  • BS7036 / EN16005 certification preferred
  • CSCS Card desirable
  • NVQ in Door Systems, Repair, or a related discipline advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
