We are looking for an experienced Service Sales Business Development Manager to join a successful and growing business within the automatic and industrial door sector. This is a field-based role focused on identifying, developing and securing preventative maintenance contracts for automatic doors. You will manage opportunities from initial enquiry and site survey through to quotation, negotiation and successful contract award. The position would suit a commercially driven sales professional with experience selling service and maintenance contracts who enjoys developing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities and converting enquiries into long-term business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure regional and national service and maintenance contract opportunities.
  • Develop new business while maximising opportunities within the existing customer base.
  • Visit customer sites to understand their requirements and complete detailed site surveys.
  • Develop commercially appropriate service and maintenance solutions based on customer needs.
  • Prepare and submit accurate quotations and tenders within agreed timescales.
  • Proactively follow up quotations, negotiate with customers and convert opportunities into secured contracts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate, real-time records of opportunities, quotations and sales activity using CRM and sales reporting systems.
  • Achieve agreed targets for quotations, orders, conversion rates and response times.
  • Identify additional opportunities for new equipment and related products and services.
  • Provide comprehensive handovers to operational and commercial teams once contracts have been secured.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across sales, service, operations and customer support.
  • Represent the business professionally at customer meetings, sales meetings, training sessions and relevant industry events.

About You

We are looking for a self-motivated and commercially focused individual with a strong track record in field-based sales.

Essential Experience

  • Field sales and business development.
  • Selling service and maintenance contracts.
  • Automatic pedestrian door maintenance contracts and/or industrial door maintenance contracts.
  • Managing opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award.
  • Conducting customer site visits and understanding technical/service requirements.
  • Preparing and presenting commercial proposals.
  • Presenting to customers, stakeholders or internal teams.
  • Negotiating and closing business.
  • Using CRM systems to manage opportunities and sales pipelines.

Desirable Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) standards or qualifications.
  • ADSA or ADIA industry knowledge or accreditation.
  • BS 7036 and/or BS EN 16005:2012.
  • Knowledge of routes to market within the automatic or industrial door sector.
  • Experience working with Facilities Management organisations or customers.

£40,000-£45,000 basic salary, depending on experience and location. 1% commission on contract renewals. 2% commission on new contracts. Company car or car allowance.
