Job Description
Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
We're working with a leading manufacturing business seeking a proactive and hands-on Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong electrical background and solid mechanical skills to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
The role is shift-based (4 on 4 off), covering rotating 12-hour shifts including early, late, and peak-period rotations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure optimal machine uptime.
- Diagnose faults and breakdowns quickly using strong fault-finding techniques.
- Collaborate with production teams to plan downtime for servicing and repairs.
- Maintain critical spare parts inventory and manage part orders for maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with H&S regulations.
- Support with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Continuously seek process improvements to minimise downtime and reduce costs.
What We're Looking For:
- Time-served engineer with an electrical bias and solid mechanical ability.
- Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, HNC/ONC, 18th Edition.
- Proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong awareness and commitment to health and safety practices.
- Confident in PLC fault finding and diagnostics.
- Familiar with CMMS systems and excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Able to multitask and reprioritise under pressure with good communication skills (min. B2 English level).
Shift Pattern:4 on 4 off rotation:
- 07:00-19:00 and 12:00-00:00.
- Peak season: 09:00-21:00.
