We're looking for an Estimator to take ownership of preparing accurate and competitive quotations for engineering and fabrication projects. The Estimator will work closely with engineering, procurement, and sales teams to develop detailed project estimates that balance technical scope, manufacturability, risk, and margin. Key Responsibilities- Interpret customer requirements, drawings, and specifications to develop accurate cost models and quotations.
- Prepare detailed estimates covering materials, fabrication, labour, subcontracting, and logistics.
- Balance cost, technical feasibility, and risk to ensure competitive bids.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and sales throughout the quotation process.
- Review project outcomes to refine estimating accuracy and support continuous improvement.
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
- 3+ years' experience in estimating or proposals, ideally within fabrication, pressure vessels, or thermal equipment.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (welding, forming, machining).
- Familiarity with ASME, TEMA, or API standards (advantageous).
- Skilled in MS Excel, ERP systems, and estimating software.
