About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced qualified electrician to join a fast growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role within a business delivering a high volume of projects each year. In this hands on position you will oversee the delivery of lighting commercial solar PV and battery storage installations. You will manage installation teams and subcontractors while leading day to day site operations across commercial and industrial projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in solar PV systems combined with leadership capability to ensure projects are delivered safely efficiently and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities
- Play a key role in project and operations management including technical input into design and purchasing decisions
- Carry out pre tender site surveys
- Ensure all sites comply with health and safety regulations and internal policies
- Coordinate with office teams on materials and logistics
- Oversee installations and resolve issues before project handover
- Inspect completed and existing installations and troubleshoot technical challenges
- Communicate effectively with customers and respond to queries
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Support continuous improvement in quality and processes
- Work hands on with teams when required to meet deadlines
- Travel to sites across the UK as required
Skills and experience required
- Qualified electrician with relevant certifications such as City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Inspection and testing qualifications
- Current wiring regulations certification
- Recognised solar PV installation and maintenance certification
- Site supervisor safety training
- Valid ECS card
- Full clean driving licence
- Experience leading installation teams and subcontractors
- Proven experience with commercial and industrial grid connected solar PV systems in the UK
- Knowledge of solar PV equipment and systems
- Strong IT skills including experience with system monitoring
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong problem solving and organisational abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
