The Power Supply Design Engineer is responsible for the electrical design, development, and delivery of high-performance AC-DC switch-mode power supplies, ensuring they meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets. The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience in power supply design and includes both technical design work and mentoring of junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development
- Design all sections of AC-DC switch-mode power supplies.
- Optimise designs to meet technical specifications, cost, and project timelines.
- Ensure manufacturability, reliability, and ease of integration for mass production.
- Select and manage electronic components considering availability, cost, and obsolescence.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary R&D teams (electrical, mechanical, manufacturing).
- Innovate and apply new technologies and topologies in product design.
Documentation & Project Delivery
- Create and review engineering documentation to support manufacturing handover.
- Participate in design reviews, testing, and verification activities.
- Ensure all project deliverables and milestones are met.
- Report design status and resolve technical queries.
Customer & Cross-functional Support
- Work closely with other departments to meet project needs and customer expectations.
- Provide ongoing technical support and respond to design-related queries.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor\’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
- 5+ years experience in AC-DC switch-mode power supply design.

Strong knowledge of:
- Power topologies
- EMC and thermal management
- Magnetic, analogue, and digital circuit design
- Experience in design from concept through to production.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
