We're recruiting for a commercially driven Strategic Sales Manager to lead and develop the external sales function at a well-established specialist distributor. This is a senior leadership role combining team management, account growth, and strategic planning. The role is ideal for someone with a strong B2B sales background, ideally in high-reliability components or industrial markets, who can translate product knowledge into commercial growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the external sales team, fostering a high-performance, target-driven culture
- Coach and support team members; set clear sales objectives and review performance
- Maintain and grow key customer accounts with a hands-on approach
- Oversee territory planning and customer engagement across sales regions
- Develop and deliver sales strategy aligned to growth targets in key sectors
- Identify and capture new business opportunities and emerging markets
- Provide regular sales reporting, pipeline updates, and strategic input to directors
- Represent the business at customer meetings, trade events, and supplier reviews
- Work closely with suppliers to align on joint growth initiatives
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform planning
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience managing sales teams (preferably including field-based staff)

- Commercially focused and confident driving sales strategy
