About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and organised Goods In/Out Operative to join our busy Service team in Dartford. This is a hands-on role supporting the smooth operation of our service department. You will be responsible for booking in service equipment, preparing items for dispatch, managing stock, and providing a professional and friendly first point of contact for customers visiting the service facility. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, take pride in accuracy and organisation, and are confident dealing with customers, we would love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Picking and packing equipment and spare parts orders
- Receiving and booking in incoming service repairs
- Logging items onto the ERP system and tagging for servicing
- Managing outgoing repairs and preparing them for dispatch
- Packing equipment and coordinating courier collections
- Greeting customers and handling service handovers
- Completing and checking relevant documentation
- Handling incoming courier shipments and unpacking goods
- Maintaining a clean, organised and presentable service and reception area
- Carrying out regular stock checks and assisting with stock takes
- Liaising with procurement regarding stock discrepancies
- Providing ad hoc support to stores, service and production teams
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in goods in/out, stores or dispatch roles
- Confident in a customer-facing environment
- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Comfortable using IT systems and ERP software
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage changing priorities effectively
- Proactive, positive and enthusiastic
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- A strong communicator
- In possession of a valid driving licence
Desirable:
- Counterbalance FLT licence
