We are seeking a skilled Site Engineer / Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery and integration of advanced energy monitoring and data acquisition systems across commercial and residential buildings. This role involves commissioning and integrating specialist hardware and software with building systems, ensuring accurate data capture and reliable communication to monitoring and billing platforms. It's ideal for an engineer with experience in BMS, metering, or controls integration who enjoys hands-on problem solving, working on-site, and collaborating with remote technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission and configure energy monitoring and data logging systems on-site
  • Integrate solutions with Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Configure and test communication protocols including M-Bus, Modbus, BACnet
  • Integrate utility meters (heat, electricity, water, gas) into monitoring platforms
  • Verify accuracy of data collection and transmission
  • Diagnose and resolve communication and integration issues
  • Work closely with project managers, technical teams, and subcontractors
  • Produce commissioning reports and site documentation
  • Provide remote support, troubleshooting, and system optimisation

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience working with BMS or building controls systems
  • Knowledge of metering systems and data logging
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (Modbus, M-Bus, BACnet)
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, routers, switches)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel to sites across the UK
