An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electronics Engineer to join a newly established Production Engineering team within a high-technology engineering environment. This role focuses on transitioning innovative products from development into robust, scalable manufacturing.
You will take ownership of all electronic and electrical aspects required to deliver reliable assembly, test, calibration, and repair capabilities, while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities- New Product Introduction (NPI) & Manufacturing Transfer
- Support the structured transition of products from development into manufacturing
- Define and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) within ERP systems
- Develop and analyse product test strategies and coverage
- Production Test Development
- Define and implement production test strategies, including functional testing and calibration
- Manufacturing Process Development
- Support and optimise processes such as PCB assembly and integration
- Cable harnessing and electrical assembly
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in efficiency, quality, and repeatability
- Identify opportunities to reduce build time and improve yield
- Production Support
- Provide hands-on support for electronic issues in production and test
- Troubleshoot PCB and system-level faults
- Documentation & Engineering Control
- Produce and maintain production documentation, including Build and test procedures, Calibration and programming instructions
- Collaboration
- Act as the electronics interface between engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams
- Engage with suppliers on components and manufacturing improvements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Experience in electronics production, manufacturing engineering, or design support
- Strong understanding of PCB assembly and production test methods
- Familiarity with standards such as ISO9001, IPC610, and ESD practices
