What You'll Do:
- Source and purchase materials and components to support production
- Maintain accurate purchase orders and delivery schedules using Microsoft Dynamics NAV
- Run weekly MRP processes and manage inventory levels effectively
- Liaise with suppliers, production, customer service, and warehouse teams
- Control and manage subcontract free-issue items
- Ensure compliance with quality, cost, and on-time delivery standards
- Keep MRP/ERP data up to date with accurate lead times and pricing
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of subcontract and direct procurement, particularly fabricated or machined components (metal & plastic)
- Strong MRP/ERP skills - ideally Microsoft Dynamics NAV
- Confident reading and understanding technical drawings/specifications
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables)
- Commercial awareness with a track record of delivering cost savings
- Strong negotiation, organisation, and supplier relationship skills
