We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrically Biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy and growing manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a successful business where engineering plays a critical role in maintaining operational performance. You will be responsible for maintaining, improving and developing a wide range of automated production and packaging equipment, helping to maximise reliability, efficiency and productivity across the site. The role offers exposure to modern automated production systems, fault finding, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across site machinery and equipment
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults efficiently
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
- Working closely with production teams to coordinate maintenance activities
- Assisting with machinery upgrades, installations and commissioning projects
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems
- Managing critical spare parts and sourcing replacement components
- Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with company procedures and health and safety legislation
- Supporting root cause analysis investigations and implementing corrective actions following equipment failures
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, production, food processing or similar environment
- Strong electrical engineering background with mechanical maintenance capability
- PLC fault-finding and diagnostic experience
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a recognised engineering qualification such as:
- Electrical Apprenticeship
- City & Guilds
- ONC/HNC
- NVQ Level 3
- 18th Edition
- Equivalent engineering qualification
Desirable
- Experience within food manufacturing, fresh produce, packaging or automated production environments
- Continuous improvement experience
- Experience working with automated production equipment and robotics
Working Hours
This role operates on a rotating shift pattern covering:
- 07:00 - 19:00
- 12:00 - 00:00
- Occasional 09:00 - 21:00 shifts may be required during quieter operational periods.
