A prominent UK specialist in comprehensive fire protection solutions and life safety systems is seeking an experienced Fire Suppression Engineer to support installation, maintenance, and servicing operations nationwide. Operating on-site across a diverse commercial client portfolio, the role focuses on delivering high-reliability fire suppression installations and inspections in strict alignment with manufacturer standards and regulatory frameworks.
You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of specialized suppression equipment from carrying out site surveys and installation to routine servicing, fault-finding, and final commissioning. In addition to technical execution, you will serve as a trusted on-site point of contact, liaising directly with clients to advise on system health, remedial works, and safety compliance.
This position is ideal for a mobile, customer-focused engineering specialist seeking autonomous fieldwork backed by a well-established technical support structure.
Key Responsibilities : Carry out the installation, commissioning, inspection, and preventative maintenance of specialist kitchen and commercial fire suppression systems. Perform thorough on-site surveys, diagnose system faults, and execute prompt remedial repairs. Conduct mandatory compliance testing and ensure all works adhere strictly to manufacturer guidelines, British Standards, and statutory safety legislation. Compile detailed, accurate service reports, asset records, and compliance certification following every site visit. Liaise with client stakeholders and facility managers to advise on system operation, safety upgrades, and remedial actions. Maintain personal toolkits, testing equipment, and allocated vehicle stocks in safe, calibrated working condition. Candidate Requirements : Demonstrable hands-on background in fire suppression systems, specifically covering installation, routine servicing, and commissioning. Relevant manufacturer training certificates or industry-standard qualifications in specialist suppression systems (e.g., ANSUL or equivalent wet chemical/gaseous systems) highly preferred. Strong mechanical and technical problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to interpret technical drawings and system schematics accurately. Professional client-facing demeanor with excellent communication and recordkeeping skills. Full UK driving licence with full willingness to travel to client sites nationwide.
