ACS International Schools are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our friendly team at ACS Cobham International School, starting in mid January 2026. ACS Cobham is a prestigious day and boarding school set in the beautiful Surrey countryside, just a short distance from central London. We offer students from over 70 nationalities a broad and flexible curriculum including the International Baccalaureate (IB) and US programmes, and pride ourselves on our world‑class facilities and strong sense of community.
Working as part of a small, supportive team, the successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting the health and wellbeing of our students, staff, and visitors.
Location: Cobham, Surrey, KT11 1BL
Contract: Permanent, term time only (42 weeks per year)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 (45 hours per week)
Start Date: Mid January 2026
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a high standard of service within NMC guidelines and school policies.
- Deliver first aid and emergency care to students, faculty, staff and visitors.
- Assess and support students who are feeling unwell.
- Liaising with parents or guardians as appropriate.
- Supporting students who reside in the boarding houses, accompanying them to medical appointments if required.
- Provide care to students with chronic medical conditions in consultation with their medical advisors.
- Contribute to the promotion of health and wellbeing.
- Administration tasks include maintaining medical records, healthcare plans whilst adhering to school policies.
- Arrange a schedule of vaccination timetables and dates.
- Teaching awareness and procedures to staff.
- Contribute to child protection and safeguarding, and uphold health and safety standards at all times.
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
- Current NMC registration.
- Minimum of 3 years post registration experience, ideally in school nursing, health visiting or practice nursing.
- Experience working in a boarding school environment is particularly desirable.
- Paediatric and hospital experience is desirable.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a team.
- Understands and respects the school’s methods of communication.
- Excellent communication, inter‑personal and organisational skills.
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development.
- Confident use of IT systems and accurate record keeping.
