A well-established UK engineering manufacturer is expanding and looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to support ongoing growth and product development. Working within the R&D team, you will be involved in both new product design and the improvement of existing solutions, contributing to engineering projects from concept through to testing and validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products and improve existing designs
- Build and test prototypes throughout the development process
- Analyse test results and recommend next steps
- Produce and maintain bills of materials (BOMs)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver project objectives
- Support R&D activity across multiple product lines
What You’ll Need
- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or Product Design)
- Strong 3D CAD experience (ideally Autodesk Inventor)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience with product testing and validation
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- R&D or innovation-focused engineering experience
