A well-established UK engineering manufacturer is expanding and looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to support ongoing growth and product development. Working within the R&D team, you will be involved in both new product design and the improvement of existing solutions, contributing to engineering projects from concept through to testing and validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new products and improve existing designs
  • Build and test prototypes throughout the development process
  • Analyse test results and recommend next steps
  • Produce and maintain bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver project objectives
  • Support R&D activity across multiple product lines

What You’ll Need

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or Product Design)
  • Experience in product development or design engineering
  • Strong 3D CAD experience (ideally Autodesk Inventor)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience with product testing and validation
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Desirable: R&D or innovation-focused engineering experience
