We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project / Site Manager to join a growing specialist engineering organisation delivering complex projects across the UK. This is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing project delivery from initial scope through to completion, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

The successful candidate will lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors, manage project finances, and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring compliance with industry and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from initial brief through to successful completion.
  • Prepare quotations, cost estimates, and scopes of work in line with client requirements.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Track expenditure across labour, materials, plant, and subcontractors.
  • Identify and mitigate cost risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project plans and schedules.
  • Coordinate and supervise site teams and specialist subcontractors.
  • Provide on-site leadership and ensure work is completed to the required quality standards.
  • Liaise directly with clients to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate key milestones, updates, and risks.
  • Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements, and permits to work.
  • Source project materials, negotiate pricing, and manage procurement activities.
  • Ensure suppliers and contractors meet compliance and site induction requirements.
  • Maintain site standards in accordance with health, safety, and CDM regulations.
  • Complete project documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams where required.
About You

We're looking for a motivated professional with a strong background in project or site management within technical, engineering, industrial, or hazardous environments.

Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience managing technical or engineering projects.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience leading site teams and subcontractors.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to travel extensively across the UK, including overnight stays when required.
  • Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance.

  • Project Management qualification.
  • CDM knowledge or qualification.
  • Experience working within mechanical, engineering, infrastructure, fuel, utilities, or other regulated environments.
  • Technical understanding of mechanical installations or industrial systems.
