An established engineering business, part of a global manufacturing group, is investing in significant growth and is looking to appoint an experienced Sales Manager to drive new business and strengthen key customer relationships. This is a national, customer-facing role with full ownership of business development and account growth across industrial markets.

The Role

You will take the lead on identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities, while managing and growing existing client relationships. The role combines commercial sales responsibility with a technical understanding of engineered solutions. You will work closely with internal teams across estimating, projects, and production to ensure successful delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development
  • Drive new business activity and win new customers
  • Identify market opportunities and convert into revenue
  • Build a strong pipeline across multiple industrial sectors
  • Account Management
    • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships
    • Act as the key commercial contact for customers
    • Provide ongoing support and identify upsell opportunities
  • Technical Sales
    • Conduct site visits and assess customer requirements
    • Provide technical input and commercial guidance
    • Work with estimating teams to produce competitive proposals
  • Commercial & Delivery
    • Lead negotiations and close deals
    • Coordinate internally with project and production teams
    • Ensure smooth execution from sale through to delivery

    Required Experience

    • Proven track record in sales or business development within engineering or industrial sectors
    • Strong experience selling technically engineered solutions
    • Background within heat exchanger or related thermal / mechanical systems preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to win new business and grow accounts
