We\’re seeking a hands-on Projects Engineer to lead the design, development, and installation of engineering solutions within a manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Engineering Director, this role combines on-the-ground mechanical work (70%) with project planning and documentation (30%), ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in line with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience in managing complex engineering projects, and the ability to work effectively across internal teams, suppliers, and contractors. Key Responsibilities: Lead full lifecycle of engineering projects from concept to installation, including machine overhauls and CapEx projects. Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues; propose and implement engineering improvements. Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to meet project timelines and compliance standards. Maintain technical documentation, reports, and CAD drawings. Stay up to date with industry innovations, exploring new technologies and processes.Essential Skills & Experience: Degree or formal qualification in Engineering (or equivalent). 3+ years\’ hands-on mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing setting. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, AC/DC drives). Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office/Project. Skilled in root cause analysis, 8D, FMEA, and fault-finding techniques. Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working under pressure in a dynamic, shop-floor-focused environment.Desirable: Experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Statistical Process Control.Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (early finish Friday at 3:30pm) – 37.5 hours/week.Benefits include: Private Medical, Life Insurance (4x), Pension (6%), generous holidays, free parking, and a supportive team culture.ACS are recruiting for a Projects Engineer .
