We're recruiting for a hands-on Production & Test Lead Technician to join a growing engineering team, supporting the assembly and testing of advanced infrared thermal imaging products. This role covers the full build process - from small cable assemblies to full system integration - within a mix of job, batch, and flow production environments.

You'll be responsible for assembling and testing a range of electro-mechanical components, ensuring all builds meet engineering specifications, performance standards, and safety regulations. A key part of the role includes fault-finding at the component level, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting continuous improvement alongside the engineering and production teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assembling electro-mechanical systems from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Performing functional tests and quality checks on devices
  • Diagnosing and resolving faults using tools such as FlashPro, oscilloscopes, and signal generators
  • Maintaining accurate records of test results and updating documentation when changes occur
  • Working closely with engineers to optimise production processes and resolve technical issues

This role is ideal for a technician or production engineer with solid experience in electro-mechanical assembly and testing. You'll need to be confident with both hardware and software tools, have strong attention to detail, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, precision-focused environment.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Experience in soldering (including SMT to 0201), wiring, and cable/harness assembly
  • Familiarity with electronic and mechanical drawings and PCB design software
  • Working knowledge of Python, C#, and basic data protocols (Hex/Decimal/Binary)
  • Strong fault-finding skills and ability to use standard diagnostic equipment
  • Experience with cleanroom or opto-mechanical assembly is a bonus
  • A proactive, flexible mindset with strong communication and documentation skills

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working on varied projects, and contributing to the delivery of high-performance imaging technology.
