We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician to join a well-established and forward-thinking engineering team within a busy industrial manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining, improving and supporting electrical systems across a large production site. You'll help ensure plant, equipment and facilities operate safely, efficiently and in full compliance with regulations, while contributing to ongoing site improvement projects. Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to electrical faults and breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain safe plant operation
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with electrical safety regulations and site procedures
- Ensure all electrical work complies with statutory requirements and relevant standards
- Install, maintain and upgrade site lighting systems, including energy-efficiency improvements
- Support mechanical and electrical (M&E) installations for production, facilities and improvement projects
- Test, inspect and certify electrical installations (where qualified)
- Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and site upgrades
- Work in accordance with health and safety policies, promoting a strong safety culture
Skills & Experience
- Experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical (M&E) installations
- Experience with lighting installations and upgrade projects
- Familiarity with planned preventative maintenance systems
- Strong safety-focused mindset
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- Reliable, accountable and able to work independently
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise across teams
- Good time management and organisational skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Essential: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- City & Guilds 2382 - 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Desirable: City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) - Inspection, Testing and Certification
