Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for CNC programming, process improvement and precision machining? We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing precision engineering business that supplies complex, high-quality components to demanding industrial sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern manufacturing environment where continuous improvement, innovation and technical expertise are highly valued.

Working closely with Production and Quality teams, you'll play a key role in developing and optimising manufacturing processes, supporting new product introduction and driving operational excellence across the machine shop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce offline CNC programs for multi-axis milling and turning using CAM software.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing methods to increase productivity, quality and efficiency.
  • Create manufacturing work packs and detailed operator instructions.
  • Support production in achieving manufacturing schedules and delivery targets.
  • Optimise tooling, workholding and machining strategies.
  • Manage the introduction of new components into production.
  • Investigate manufacturing issues using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across Engineering and Quality.
  • Coordinate machine maintenance activities to maximise equipment performance.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and internal procedures.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within a precision machining environment.
  • Strong offline CNC programming experience using CAM software (Mastercam experience is advantageous but not essential).
  • Experience programming multi-axis CNC milling and turning machines.
  • Good knowledge of 3 Axis, 3+2 Axis and 5 Axis machining.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models and customer specifications.
  • Experience using Fanuc and HAAS CNC controls.
  • A strong understanding of machining processes and manufacturing best practice.
  • Experience machining exotic materials, ideally within highly regulated or precision engineering industries.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including Root Cause Analysis.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.

Desirable

  • SolidWorks experience.
  • ERP/MRP system experience.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
