We are seeking an experienced Production Technician to join a growing production team working on the assembly and testing of advanced electro-mechanical products and systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a range of innovative technologies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quality, precision, and teamwork are highly valued.
The role involves the manufacture, assembly, testing, and fault-finding of mechanical, optical, and electronic assemblies. Production work ranges from cable and harness assembly through to complete system build and test activities. This position would suit someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working across a variety of technologies and production tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Electro-mechanical assembly and testing of products and sub-assemblies
- Cable, wiring, and harness assembly
- SMT soldering and PCB repair work
- Component-level troubleshooting, fault finding, and debugging
- Recording, documenting, and maintaining production/test data
- Reading and interpreting schematic diagrams and technical documentation
- Using standard electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, DVMs, and signal generators
- Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high-quality production standards
- Working within clean room procedures for opto-mechanical assembly where required
- Formal engineering or relevant technical qualification
- Good understanding of electronic fundamentals
- Experience with troubleshooting, fault finding, and debugging
- SMT soldering experience (including fine-pitch components) and PCB repair skills
- Wiring and cable/harness assembly experience
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams
- Computer literate with good technical documentation skills
- Experience using standard electronic test equipment
- Working knowledge of PCB design software
- Basic experience with SolidWorks or similar mechanical design software
- Understanding of analogue and digital video processing is desirable
- Understanding of clean room techniques for opto-mechanical assembly is advantageous
