Vehicle Technician / Senior Vehicle Technician – Independent Mercedes-Benz Specialist Location: Paddock Wood area, Kent Basic salary: £30,000–£38,000 for junior technicians; £42,000–£52,500 for senior technicians, depending on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm Overtime: Paid at time and a half outside normal working hours No regular Saturday working Love German cars? ACS Automotive is recruiting for an independent Mercedes-Benz specialist looking for skilled, enthusiastic Vehicle Technicians to join its growing team. Working on Mercedes models from the 1950s through to modern vehicles, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in everything from servicing and brakes to complex fault finding, engine rebuilds and interesting mechanical projects. You’ll work alongside the owner and an experienced Master Technician, with support and training to help you build your knowledge of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The team aims to give everyone opportunities to work on interesting projects and develop their abilities. The role Depending on your experience, your work will include: * Carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on classic and modern Mercedes-Benz vehicles. * Investigating mechanical and electrical faults and identifying the appropriate repairs. * Working on braking, suspension, engine and other vehicle systems. * Getting involved in more extensive repairs, engine rebuilds and specialist projects as your skills develop. * Completing work carefully, checking your repairs and maintaining high standards of workmanship. * Keeping your working area clean, organised and respecting customers’ vehicles. * Working closely with colleagues, sharing knowledge and taking advice on board. Who we’re looking for We’re interested in technicians at different stages of their careers, from those building their experience to established senior technicians. Above all, our client wants someone who: * Has practical experience in vehicle servicing and repair. * Enjoys working on cars and has a particular interest in German brands. * Takes pride in doing a thorough job. * Is curious, willing to learn and comfortable asking questions. * Works well with others and brings a positive, respectful attitude. * Maintains a tidy working environment and professional presentation. * Wants to develop their skills within a specialist workshop. Mercedes-Benz experience is particularly valuable and is required for consideration at the top end of the senior salary range. Experience with other German brands would also be welcomed.
