We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established motor trade dealership in Basingstoke, who are expanding their commercial vehicle operation and are now looking to appoint a dedicated Electric Commercial Vehicle Sales Executive. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a growing electric van brand, with full dealership backing, warm leads provided, and the chance to build a long-term sales pipeline from the ground up.
You will be the sole, dedicated sales professional for this brand giving you full control, visibility, and long-term earning potential as the business develops.
The Role
This position is ideal for a motor trade sales professional who enjoys building relationships, developing accounts, and taking responsibility for growing a product line. You will manage all enquiries and customers for the electric commercial vehicle range, working with both new and existing business clients. This is not a short-term, quick-turn role; the dealership is looking for someone who is stable, committed, and invested in seeing a project through as the brand grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all sales enquiries for the electric commercial vehicle range
- Handling inbound leads and developing new business opportunities
- Building long-term relationships with local businesses and fleet customers
- Managing the full sales process from enquiry to delivery
- Advising customers on electric vehicle solutions and suitability
- Supporting customers with finance options including leasing and contract hire
- Understanding business VAT implications (training provided where required)
- Maintaining accurate CRM and sales documentation
- Working closely with management to grow order bank and brand presence
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous motor trade dealership sales experience is essential
- Background in either car or commercial vehicle sales considered
- Understanding of leasing, contract hire, and business sales is advantageous
- Professional, structured, and process-driven approach
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Looking for stability and long-term development, not frequent role changes
- Comfortable building a brand and pipeline over time
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 8:30am - 6:00pm
- Saturday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Day off in the week (5-day working week)
- No Sundays
- No Bank Holidays
Salary & Package
- £20,000 basic salary
- £45,000 OTE
- Guaranteed commission for the first 6 - 9 months while the order bank is built
