Diagnostic Technician £40,000 - £45,000 Basic Salary (DOE) + Monthly Bonus Chelmsford Permanent | Full Time Monday to Friday (8:00am – 5:00pm) | 1 in 3 Saturdays (8:30am – 12:30pm) Our client, a busy and expanding main dealership based in Chelmsford, is looking to recruit an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join their growing workshop.
Due to continued expansion, the workshop is increasing from 4 Diagnostic Technicians to 6, creating an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to join a well-established team with outstanding earning potential and long-term career development.
Applications are welcomed from Diagnostic Technicians of any manufacturer background.
Full manufacturer training and a fast-track accreditation programme will be provided, so previous experience with a specific brand is not required.
Candidates from both car and commercial vehicle backgrounds will be considered.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out advanced vehicle diagnostics, fault finding and electrical testing.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults.
- Complete servicing, repairs and maintenance to the highest standards.
- Use the latest diagnostic equipment and manufacturer systems.
- Work closely with Workshop Control and the Service Department to maximise workshop efficiency.
- Complete vehicle health checks and identify additional work where appropriate.
- Ensure all work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment. Your Background & Skills
- Proven experience working as a Diagnostic Technician within the motor trade.
- Diagnostic experience from any manufacturer or franchise will be considered.
- Experience working on cars or commercial vehicles is welcome.
- Strong electrical and fault-finding abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
