Vehicle Technician
Competitive Salary (Dependent on Experience)
Basildon — Permanent / Full Time – Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm
Our client, an established and busy independent workshop based in Basildon, is looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who enjoys working on a wide variety of vehicles, from everyday cars and vans through to premium and prestige models. The successful candidate will be confident carrying out everything from routine servicing and repairs through to advanced diagnostics and major mechanical work.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs to a high standard
- Diagnosing and rectifying complex mechanical and electrical faults
- Completing major repair work including timing belts and engine-related repairs
- Using diagnostic equipment to accurately identify vehicle faults
- Conducting vehicle inspections and health checks
- Working on a wide range of cars and light commercial vehicles
- Ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely and to manufacturer standards
- Maintaining accurate workshop documentation and job records
- Supporting colleagues and contributing to a productive workshop environment
Your Background & Skills
- Level 3 NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or above) - essential
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician within the motor trade
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- MOT Tester Licence
- Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Qualification
- F-Gas Accreditation
- Master Technician Accreditation
- Advanced diagnostic experience
