The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for preparing, analysing, and reporting on geological samples from the mine and process plant to support production requirements. This role involves hands‑on sample preparation, XRF analysis and PhotonAssay analytical laboratory. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our growing operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a modern mining laboratory environment, supporting gold production through high‑quality sample preparation, analysis, and reporting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, analysis, and reporting of geological and process plant samples to support operational and production requirements. The role offers hands‑on involvement across sample preparation, XRF analysis, and the operation of a cutting‑edge PhotonAssay analytical laboratory. The Laboratory Technician will play a key role in ensuring analytical accuracy, efficiency, and data integrity while contributing to the safe and effective operation of the laboratory.
Company accommodation is available for non‑residential staff. Salary is based on experience and can be discussed on the phone and at the interview.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, log, and track geological and metallurgical samples.
- Perform drying, crushing, splitting, and pulverising of geology and process plant samples following strict QA/QC protocols.
- Maintain sample integrity, prevent contamination, and follow chain‑of‑custody requirements.
- Conduct routine analysis of samples using XRF instrumentation.
- Calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and repeatable results.
- Prepare standards, blanks, and duplicates according to analytical procedures.
- Record, validate and report analytical data within the data management systems.
