Livingston James is delighted to be partnered with Acrux Gold to appoint a Head of People & Culture, supporting the organisation through its next phase of international growth and development. Acrux Gold is an emerging, vertically integrated precious metals business and the parent company of SGZ Cononish Limited, operator of Scotland’s only commercial gold and silver mine. The Group operates across the full value chain, spanning mining, processing technology, refining and downstream product development, with operations in the UK and South Africa. Acrux exists to make mining better - more responsible, more efficient, and more human - underpinned by strong values and a disciplined, high‑performance culture.

As the business enters an exciting period of accelerated growth and increasing organisational complexity, Acrux Gold is seeking to appoint a Head of People & Culture in a newly created and highly strategic role. This appointment is foundational to building the people infrastructure required to support scale, international mobilisation and long‑term operational delivery across the Group.

Reporting into the COO Officer and working closely with the leadership team, the Head of People & Culture will be responsible for establishing and leading a fit‑for‑purpose people function. The role will span talent and workforce build, international mobilisation and compliance, HR systems and governance, organisational design and culture development. It is a hands‑on role, suited to someone comfortable balancing strategic input with day‑to‑day execution in a lean, fast‑moving environment.

This individual will act as a trusted partner to leadership, supporting the development of high‑performing teams across technically complex and safety‑critical environments, while ensuring clarity, accountability and effective ways of working are embedded as the organisation grows.

We are seeking an experienced People or HR leader with a track record of building and scaling people capabilities within growing organisations. Strong stakeholder management skills, commercial awareness and a pragmatic, delivery‑focused mindset are essential, alongside a genuine motivation to build something from the ground up.
