About Us

UnderwriteMe is a UK based Insurtech creating disruptive SaaS solutions for the insurance industry. We are on a mission to make life insurance more widely accessible, providing technology to ensure people and their loved ones are protected when the inevitable happens. We are wholly owned by Pacific Life, but operate as an autonomous business within the company.

UnderwriteMe has two main products we sell to customers:

  • Decision Platform - a B2B enterprise platform that provides a best-in-market Underwriting Rules Engine used by over 35 insurers to power their underwriting decisions.
  • Protection Platform - a B2B2C marketplace used by over 15,000 advisors to power quoting and purchase of protection products in the UK.

Who We're Looking For

  • Someone who brings energy, curiosity and a willingness to learn and grow
  • A strong team player who likes solving problems collaboratively
  • A clear communicator with excellent written and verbal English
  • A passion for building software to solve real user problems

What You’ll Need

  • Achieved or predicted 2:1, in ANY undergraduate degree subject.
  • Demonstrated experience building software applications through personal projects, academic work, open-source contributions, internships, or commercial roles (any programming language is fine).

What Are We Offering?

As a Graduate Software Engineer you will work as a hands-on engineer within one of our two products (Decision Platform or Protection Platform). Our main technology stack is Java for APIs, React / Next.js for Front End and everything is hosted on AWS using Terraform. We use Python across our Data and AI use cases with Snowflake as our data lake technology.

Throughout your time on our Graduate Scheme you will become a well-rounded software engineer, learning how to work as part of a team but also improving your technical craft. You will have an experienced, dedicated manager to support you in your growth. While we expect you to spend a whole year working in a single area of the team, there will be opportunities once you have completed this time to move into other areas of the team if these align with your interests.

At UnderwriteMe, we believe that our people are our biggest strength. We’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered to thrive. Our culture of Diversity & Inclusion means you’ll be supported to bring your whole self to work, every day.
